But company COO insists developer is committed to growing Halifax office

Five jobs go at Frontier’s Nova Scotia studio

LostWinds and Kinectimals outfit Frontier Developments has terminated the contracts of five of its staff at its recently opened studio in Nova Scotia, Canada.

In a statement to Develop, COO David Walsh insisted there had not been any redundancies at the Halifax office.

He added Frontier was still committed to growing the Canada studio, despite letting go of staff.

"There have been no redundancies, however we can confirm that Frontier gave notice of termination of contract to five people in our Halifax studio early in November," said Walsh.

"We are committed to continuing to grow our Halifax studio, doing top class work and creating fantastic games. We are recruiting currently for a variety of roles in Halifax."

Frontier’s Nova Scotia studio was opened in August. At the time Walsh said the developer had been attracted to the region due to its geographic and commercial environment.

The studio was the company’s first expansion outside of the UK.
