Runic Games to house all ex-staffers of developer's Seattle outfit

Flagship vets form new studio

Flagship Studios may have recently laid off most of its staff, but veterans from the studio’s Seattle office have banded together to launch a new studio.

Called Runic Games, the new outfit houses all 14 staff members of the Flagship Seattle studio, which was previously working on MMORPG Mythos. The studio is headed by Travis Baldree, previously project director of Mythos, and Max Schaefer, one of the original founders of Flagship.

Details of upcoming projects are due to be announced in the next few days, but Runic says that it intends to ‘use its expertise in the action RPG MMO genre to create the best games in the market’.
