More than 20 million users have registered for free-to-play online fantasy game Free Realms since its release in 2009, Sony Online Entertainment has announced.
"This benchmark is an honour and a true testament of SOE’s success with free-to-play games," said SOE president John Smedley.
"Free Realms delivers a truly captivating, quality gameplay experience that keeps our community engaged and continues to attract new players every day."
SOE did not however release details of how many registered users are currently playing the game.
To celebrate the milestone, SOE said it will offer a special promotional in-game varsity letterman jacket to each character to those who log in between the 21st and 31st October.
There will also be a Free Realms ‘Spooktacular’ in-game event where “fun tricks and treats will be available for players to claim when they log in”.
Free Realms is a fantasy children’s game available on PC, Mac and PSN that allows players to explore, battle monsters and play mini-games in a “family friendly” world.
