Future reorganises Nintendo editorial team

Future has strengthened its Nintendo editorial team ahead of the launch of 3DS next year.

Former Official Nintendo Magazine editor, Neil Long, has been promoted to editor-in-chief of Future’s Nintendo portfolio – which includes Official Nintendo, NGamer, Wii on-console Nintendo TV and Girl Gamer.

Long joined Official Nintendo from MCV in 2008.

Meanwhile, Steve Hogarty returns to Future to become the deputy editor of Official Nintendo Magazine. Hogarty spent five years working through the ranks of Games Media Legend PC Zone, before taking up an editor-in-chief role at Nordic games website, GameReactor.

Over at NGamer, and Charlotte Martyn has become associate editor following the departure of Nick Ellis. Martyn joined Future in 2005 from GamesTM and has worked for both Official Nintendo and NGamer.
This is an important step forward for our Nintendo portfolio and prepares us for a busy 2011, which sees the launch of a new console and some key game releases,” said publisher of Future’s Nintendo portfolio Lee Nutter.

With Neil, Charlotte and Steve spearheading our efforts across all of our Nintendo brands we’ve never been stronger – and we’re looking forward to growing the portfolio.”

Neil Long added: Future’s Nintendo portfolio is already market-leading, with two quality magazines, our print specials and the recent move into on-console media with Nintendo TV.

Charlotte’s promotion is well-deserved and Steve’s return to Future means we can work hard on expanding and improving our portfolio and further strengthening our superb relationship with Nintendo.”
