G2 head to IEM Katowice in place of Cloud9

G2 Esports will compete in the League of Legends competition at the Intel Extreme Masters Katowice event.

The top team in the EU LCS will be replacing Cloud9, who dropped out of the competition over fears that some staff may not be allowed back into the US due to current travel restrictions. The NA team also did not want to jeopardise their chances of winning the LCS this split.

G2 join H2k, Unicorns of Love, M19, Kongdoo Monster, EDG, ROX Tigers and Flash Wolves, and have a very good chance at doing well. Many of the teams from outside EU are struggling in their current regions, and G2 have already proven that they can beat the best of EU this season.

The competition kicks off on Feb 25th in Katowice, Poland.
