GAME Sweden declares bankruptcy

Nordic Games owned GAME Sweden has declared bankruptcy.

GAME sold its Scandinavian arm to Nordic Games following its own financial problems in 2012 in a deal that saved 44 Swedish and 11 Norwegian stores, covering 270 jobs.

A license to use the GAME brand was also secured.

Now a message on GAME Sweden’s site confirms the closure of 31 Swedish and one Norwegian store. It has announced a reconstruction” of the business last month.

GAME Sweden currently employs 127 people. The company handling the bankruptcy says that it is currently looking at ways to secure the highest possible value for the sale of the chain’s assets.
