Cross-platform tool supports iOS, Android, HTML5 and Flash

Gamebase unveils new HTML5 and mobile game engine Reach3dx

Gamebase has unveiled a brand new game engine focused on mobile and web game development.

The new cross-platform development tool Reach3dx will support iOS, Android, HTML5 and Flash. It is based on the OpenFL framework and Haxe.

The engine is said to be based on the firm’s passed development tools, which include Gamebryo (Pictured) and LightSpeed.

More information on the tech is set to be revealed at GDC later this month.

“There are two main goals of Reach3dx. The first is to provide cross-platform rendering that is flexible and high quality. The second is to decrease development times so users can get to the market faster on the ever changing mobile platforms.” said Reach3dx senior lead engineer Paul Welch.

“With Reach3dx, developers have a simplistic and efficient game creation environment. I’m very excited to see what people will create with it in the near future.”

Gamebase’s previous tools Gamebyro and LightSpeed have been used in just under 450 titles, including games such as Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, Rift: Planes of Telara, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning and El Shaddai (Pictured using Gamebryo engine).
