Softimage co-developed pipeline integrated into Emergent's engine

Gamebryo adds XSI support

Emergent has added support for Softimage’s XSI 3D suite to its engine.

It has developed a pipeline in conjunction with Softimage to automatically push through content from XSI into the Gamebryo engine, and promises that the two companies will continue to work together to optimise and update the tool.

“We are constantly listening to our customers’ requirements and are dedicated to addressing the global needs of our clients. Integrating with Softimage is key to our global strategy,” said Geoffrey Selzer, CEO of Emergent.

“This partnership is another example of how our standardized flexible framework is designed to mold to the needs of the industry just like our leading partner program. These initiatives allow our product to be at the heart of the development process and empower developers with an abundance of choices for their pipeline.”

Marc Stevens, general manager of Softimage and vice president of Avid Technology, added: “Our partnership with Emergent will offer game developers an efficient game creation solution between Softimage|XSI software and the Gamebryo game engine.

"Softimage offers the most powerful and versatile 3D content creation platform for games on the market today, and by working closely with Emergent, we will help accelerate the game development cycles between content creation to final in-context preview.”
