NaturalMotion's animation tech now 'tightly' coupled with Emergent's engine

Gamebryo gets morpheme integration

NaturalMotion has partnered with Emergent to integrate its morpheme animation middleware into the Gamebryo engine.

Morpheme, which is in use by studios such as Bioware and Disney, gives animators the power to preview and build blend trees and transition graphs in real time, offering full control over the final appearance of their animations.

“Emergent’s partner program is designed to leverage Gamebryo’s flexibility so our developers will be able to take advantage of numerous high-quality middleware solutions through our certified integrations, helping our customers save time and risk,” said John Austin, Emergent’s VP of Partner Programs.

“NaturalMotion’s morpheme:Connect gives our developers the ability to more easily create realistic character animations. NaturalMotion is a proven leader in the industry and we are excited to see what our developers create through this technology partnership.”

Christian Staack, VP of sales for North America at NaturalMotion, added: “NaturalMotion’s goal with morpheme is to provide developers with the most comprehensive, intuitive and cost-effective animation middleware possible. Gamebryo offers developers benefits that are very much in line with that goal, and the engine’s widespread adoption among developers of all platforms makes it important for morpheme and Gamebryo to work seamlessly together. Thanks to the flexibility of both products, we’ve been able to smoothly integrate the technologies.”
