Popular Facebook group to help lobbying efforts

Gamersâ?? Voice unites with TIGA in tax break fight

The bell has sounded for a new three-minute round in the UK’s fight for game development tax breaks – and this time game association TIGA is lobbying parliament with the aid of popular pressure group Gamers’ Voice.

TIGA CEO Richard Wilson said both bodies will work close together to campaign for the tax relief measures.

“I am delighted at the prospect of working with Gamers’ Voice to achieve this objective,” he said.

“Gamers’ Voice cares about the industry, they are passionate and about the industry and they are devoted to the industry."

Gamers’ Voice started out as a Facebook group created by Labour MP Tom Watson – a parliamentarian who has for over a year endorsed the game industry in the House of Commons.

The pressure group now has nearly 17,000 members, and is currently raising awareness on a new Early Day Motion in the House of Commons in support of games tax relief.
