Games London announces new Pitch Bootcamp ahead of Games Finance Market

Games London has announced a new training course for developers to ensure they’re market-ready.” The Pitch Bootcamp will take 30 games companies through an intensive two-day course covering topics such as games finance, investor engagement and pitching skills.

The aim is to prepare them for the upcoming Games Finance Market in April, where 60 developers will be given the chance to secure funding for their game. Funded by the Creative Skills Investment Fund, the bootcamp will take place at BAFTA Piccadilly in London between January 26th and January 27th. The deadline for applications is January 9th.

Meanwhile, applications for the Games Finance Market are now open. Taking place between April 4th and 6th at the Grange Hotel Tower Bridge as part of the London Games Festival, the Games Finance Market has doubled in capacity this year to allow up to 60 games companies and 60 investors to meet and create new business opportunities.

The Games Finance Market is organised by Games London, a partnership created by Film London and trade body Ukie, and is supported by the Mayor of London’s London Enterprise Panel. The three-year Games London programme aims to create 35m of investment to London game businesses and nearly 300 jobs via the Games Finance Market and the London Games Festival as a whole.

London is home to more than 500 games companies, making our city a real melting pot of cutting edge talent, creativity and innovation,” said the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan.

The Games Finance Market gives global investors a first-hand glimpse of what our games industry can offer, connecting talent with the investment it needs to flourish. I’m delighted to support training initiatives like Games London’s Pitch Bootcamp, which is helping companies take their businesses to the next level, creating jobs and boosting London’s reputation as a world leader for technology.”
