Here we look at the in-house radio/podcast category.
Adam Rosser
Adam’s been the voice, and the producer, of ‘Game On’ since its inception in 2007. The show’s been the only regular place to hear games and games culture being discussed on national radio for most of that time. In his career Adam continues to emulate Manuel from ‘Fawlty Towers’; he’s cheap and willing to learn. This is his eleventy-first nomination for a GMA.
Bex May
I lead our gaming content both in the UK and in 26 countries internationally for online and on MTV News on TV. For us, gaming is silly and funny and inclusive. Our audience are gamers who spend hours and hours on mobile games. They take a punt on indie app downloads. And they are not male-skewed – an unusual and SUPER exciting proposition.
Dan Maher
Dan fell into the frigid waters of the mainstream when he was invited to help relaunch Challenge TV’s Videogame Nation. Some 50 episodes later, he’s helped to build a dedicated audience for what some now consider the best gaming show to have ever appeared on British TV. Yes, including Bad Influence!. His writing and presenting style attempts (and occasionally succeeds) in making both hardcore players and casual viewers feel included without pandering to the former, or patronising the latter. His secret? He hates them both equally.
Guy Cocker
Guy Cocker was the BBC’s games consultant for its recent Make It Digital season of programmes. He regularly talks about games for BBC News, Sky News and CNN, hosts gaming events for Bafta and the London Screenwriters’ Festival and writes about games for Stuff, T3 and Trusted Reviews.
Jamie Nightingale
I’ve been mental about games since my Dad forced my Mum into getting me the Master System when I was 3. Ever since then my love for games has only grown and I try to share this passion with everyone I meet and whoever I can reach in written form.
Julia Hardy
Julia Hardy is an experienced TV Presenter, writer, radio presenter and live host from London specialising in technology, video games, YouTube and pretty much anything to do with the online self.
Mike Diver
I’m editor of Vice’s gaming section – ViceGaming, if you will – and have been in that position full time since February 2015. Prior to that I was primarily busying myself as a music journalist while also contributing gaming articles to Vice and Edge, and a few other outlets. Introducing greater gaming coverage into Vice, with a permanent editor, was a very natural move for the company, one of the fastest-growing media brands in the world with offices and operations across many international territories and audience figures running to hundreds of millions. Expect to see a lot more from ViceGaming in 2016.
