New Dota 2 in game event give players a chance to earn a new courier

The first special Dota 2 event in quite some time has gone live and give players a chance to win a new Baby Roshan courier.

The Dark Moon event adds a new game mode that sees a team of five players try to fend off waves of increasingly hard enemies, with a limited set of heroes. As the rounds progress players can of course buy items to improve their chances of survival. It seems to be very similar to the Wraith Night special event from a few years back.

Doing well will reward you with event points, which can then be redeemed for Dark Moon Rewards, there will also be daily bonuses. The rarest of the loot available for the new event is a sweet Immortal Dark Moon Baby Roshan courier of peerless origin.

The event is available now and will run until Monday, February 6th.

“For millennia, the warriors of the Nightsilver Woods have stood vigilant against vile forces intent on the advent of a Dark Moon, earning both title and divine charge in sacred defense of the Goddess Selemene,” reads the events description. “But now, as the night of the new moon falls, Selemene’s chosen lie helpless behind her temple walls, victims of an arcane slumber that has left the temple grounds undefended.”

“With Selemene’s influence at its weakest, and twisted shades of the familiar creeping across her domain, the Moon Goddess beckons five new protectors to stand in the stead of her champions against the corruption of the Dark Moon Horde. Will you be one to answer the hallowed call?”
