GamesAid charity voting is now live

The UK games industry can now decide which charities will receive a record-breaking amount of money from GamesAid.

From today (September 7th) for one week, GamesAid members can vote from a list of charities that have already been put forward by the games industry.

Due diligence to ensure the charities meet the criteria have been concluded – that criteria included less than 30 per cent spent on admin, an annual turnover of less than 5m and the charity must help children and young people.

Only members of GamesAid are able to nominate charities –it is free to join.

The exact figure has not been announced, but it’s expected to be higher than last year’s 438,000 – which was split between seven charities receiving 62,571 each. These wereAccuro, Lifelites, MAPS, Special Effect, Jigsaw 4U, Safe At Last and Action for Kids.

On September 30th, GamesAid will announce which charities will be receiving funds.
