Chris Petrovic, the head of GameStop’s digital ventures division, has resigned from his role at the retailer.
VentureBeat reports that his job was to invest in startups and help make acquisitions that could assist GameStop in making the transition from physical retailer to digital gaming company”.
He held the post for three and a half years and oversaw the acquisition of social games site Kongregate.
I am extremely proud of what we were able to accomplish since I joined,” Petrovic stated. This includes growing digital revenues from below $100m when I joined to over $600m in 2012 through a combination of new product/business development, acquisitions, and strategic investments.
I look forward to bring that same level of growth and leadership to my next endeavour.”
