Gears of War Ultimate Edition set for PC release

The HD upgrade of Xbox 360 title Gears of War is coming to PC, too.

That’s according to Gears 4 developer The Coalition studio head Rod Fergusson, speaking at the PC Gaming Show.

Gears of War Ultimate Edition was announced for Xbox One at Microsoft’s media briefing. It had been long-rumoured prior to this.

Speaking at the show, Fergusson said that Ultimate Edition had been re-built from the ground up. The title features visual improvements and supports both 4K resolution and Microsoft’s new DirectX 12 tech.

And when asked whether the upcoming Gears 4 could come to PC, Fergusson said: "Nothing to announce.Maybe we can talk about it at a later time."

The original Gears of War is also the only title in the series to launch on PC.
