UK production company expanding its work in games

Gina Jackson hired into new position of Head of Games at The Imaginarium Studios

UK production company The Imaginarium Studios has appointed Gina Jackson as the head of their recently launched games division, a move The Imaginarium say will "cement the company’s intentions to bring their expertise and technology into the games sector."

Jackson has held senior roles at the NextGen Skills Academy, Blushing Blue, Nokia and Eidos and brings plenty of games experience to The Imaginarium, which itself was founded in 2011 by co-founders Andy Serkis and Jonathan Cavendish.

In a statement, Jonathan Cavendish said: “We are delighted to welcome Gina to the company and we view her appointment as a sign of our commitment to make games an additional part of our entertainment portfolio. We’re fortunate to find someone of Gina’s calibre to fill this role and I’m confident that she will be instrumental in helping us achieve our goals in this exciting and highly creative industry. The interactive nature of games brings huge opportunities for us to explore as a medium for the next generation of storytelling and we are very pleased to be guided on this journey by Gina.”

In addition to this newly created role, The Imaginarium is also recruiting for several positions in its games department, one of the most interesting notes here being that they’re recruiting for those with experience in Unreal Engine 4 and experience working with current-gen consoles.

The company has previously worked with Battlefield 1 and Star Citizen, although there’s no hint of what they could be producing themselves at this time.
