Dan Slingsby was named the best Regional Games Columnist gong at last night’s Games Media Awards.

He beat out Ross Wilkinson (Press Association), Steven Fox (Metro), Ian Crump (Southern Daily Echo) and last year’s winner Dave Cook (The Scotsman).

The Games Media Awards were held at Jongleurs, Camden, and hosted hundreds of the UK’s games media and marketing and PR execs.

Key sponsors were Bethesda’s WET, Activision’s DJ Hero, Electronic Arts, Formula One 2009 from Codemasters, IL-2 Stumovik from 505 Games, Namco Bandai, New Super Mario Bros Wii from Nintendo, Saw from Konami, Scribblenauts from Warner Bros., Sega, Ubisoft, and Xbox 360.
