This is the studio's first expansion out of native Turkey

Gram Games to open London location

Gram Games is opening its first office outside of its native Turkey, with a new expansion to London, starting with 10 employees.

Kaan Karamanci, Gram Games co-founder, broke the news to VentureBeat at the Game Designers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco.

Karamanci reveals that Gram Games are looking to grow their London outfit to between 30-35 people, keeping parity with the 30-35 the company will be looking to employ in Turkey.

It’s quite the turnaround for Gram Games, who Venturebeat report was running out of cash in 2014, before the release of Tetris-like puzzle game 1010!.

1010! has been downloaded more than 100m times, and was instrumental in the company turning their fortunes around leading to this expansion. What’s next from Gram Games? Karamanci says that new games are coming soon, including some based on big licenses, but the company aren’t ready to show them off yet.

“Some people say mobile games are stalling,” Karamanci said. “I don’t really feel that way. A good product still stands out. Competition is still fierce, but good products are still good products, and that is what we are focused on.”
