NCsoft has revealed that recent MMO release Guild Wars 2 has topped the software charts in ten separate European countries.
One of them, of course, is the UK, there the game entered the All Formats listings last Monday at No.1, knocking Square Enix action outing Sleeping Dogs from its perch.
It achieves this chart feat after only ten days on the market. NCsoft has also revealed that over a million players logged into the game in the three day ‘Headstart’ period in which those who had pre-ordered the title were able to access it before it went on general release.
Our games have always been well-received in Europe, but this level of enthusiasm is both awesome and humbling”, ArenaNet president and co-founder Mike O’Brien stated.
It also impresses upon us the responsibility we have to our players and explains why we’ve taken steps recently to constrain sales of Guild Wars 2 to ensure the highest quality of service. Of course, we hope to remedy this in the near future.”
