Marty O’Donnell has settled his case against Bungie for terminating the studio’s former composer without cause.”
O’Donnell announced he had been terminated from Bungie without cause” back in April, and filed suit against the developer for unpaid benefits just last month. Bungie initially denied all allegations, but it now appears some concessions have been made.
Venture Beat reports O’Donnell and Bungie studio head Harold Ryan have agreed to a settlement that will see the company provide $95k to O’Donnell for unpaid work, vacation time and damages. The Halo music creator’s most recent work on Destiny will remain intact as well – though it remains unclear if that was ever actually in doubt.
Under the agreement, Ryan must pay O’Donnell more than $38,385 in unpaid work and vacation time, along with another $38,385 in double damages. Including attorney’s fees and interest, the total judgement for O’Donnell will come to $95,019.13.
Requests for comment from Bungie on the matter have thus far gone unanswered.
