First free-to-play Xbox title gets 800k new users in four months

Happy Wars breaks 2m downloads

The first free-to-play game released on the Xbox 360 has been downloaded over two million times.

Happy Wars was released in October, and by December had already amassed 1.2 million downloads.

The studio behind the game, Toylogic, told GameSpot it released a major update for the game including a new match mode, multiplayer rules, and a few game tweaks.

Happy Wars pits teams of 15 against each other in a bid to take the opponent’s castle.

Another free-to-play title, Ascend: New Gods, has been announced for the Xbox and will be released in a few months.
