‘Huge proportion’ of PS4 owners haven’t played The Last of Us, says Sony

A shift in the market in PlayStation’s favour means that a significant number of PS4 owners have yet to play The Last of Us.

That’s according to Sony, who made the discovery after looking through PSN data, suggesting that a high number of PS4 owners have migrated from other platforms – i.e. Xbox and Nintendo, as previously confirmed by other reports.

This, the platform holder says,is one of the key reasons ithas decided to re-visit the PlayStation 3 classic for its new hardware.

The Last of Us is considered one of the most significant titles of the last console generation, winning countless awards. It would be almost unfair for all our new fans to never play a game like this,” SCEE product manager Josh Walker told MCV this week. We’ve looked at PSN data and can see a huge proportion of PS4 players haven’t experienced The Last of Us yet.

This is quite indicative of the shift in the market and the many players who have migrated from competitive platforms that we’re glad to welcome to PlayStation.”

The Last of Us Remastered comes with all the of the original game’s DLC. Sony has also given the title a graphical overhaul. In addition to this the game runs at 60fps at 1080p.

The game launches in the UK on August 1st.
