3D animation software iClone 6 has been enhanced with support for widely-used texturing and rendering tools.
iClone creator Reallusion has announced that artists can add dynamic textures through Allegorithmic’s Substance tools, such as sliders to add aging, metal corrosion, wood stains and more. They can also export textures to Substance Designer for further refinement.
Users will also be able to provide physically-based rendering quality to their animations using Glare Technologies’ Indigo Renderer. They will even be able to download shaders from Indigo’s free library, and auto-convert 3D object materials into shaders before applying them to scenes.
"Artists looking for a real-time 3D tool to build up scenes that can be automatically rendered will find Indigo and iClone 6 to be a great duo," said Glare MD Nicholas Chapman.
Allegorithmic CEO Sébastien Deguy added: "We know how important it is for artists to create something that is visually compelling. By merging Substance technology with iClone 6, users of all skill levels will have even more ways to give their art a believable look."
