US based eSports organisation Immortals has announced that former Team Liquid manager Nick Phan has joined the team as its new general manager.
Phan will work across all of the organisations teams, and will look to try and improve their time with the organisation, both in game and out. He says that he really wants to try and make things better for his players, so they can just focus on their game.
Phan comes from doing a similar role in Team Liquid, where he worked solely with the League of Legends team. His new role will allow him to expand into multiple games.
“My work won’t be focused on just the League team,” said Phan. “My overall goal is to help spur success for these teams. After getting to know the staff, I think there’s a clear vision alignment. We want to make Immortals one of the most engaging organizations and franchise that esports has seen. A lot of that comes from maintaining integrity with players and staff. We want to make this one of the healthiest environments across all boards: emotional, physical, and mental.”
“Successful esports organizations are the ones best able to balance the needs of their players with the needs of their business,” said Immortals CEO Noah Whinston. “Nick’s experience in creating a healthy culture between players, staff, and organization is integral to the long term health of Immortals.”
