Welsh casual games firm Oysterworld, which recently fell into administration, is offering up its IP assets for sale to try and pay its debtors.
The company, reported by MCV in August to owe almost £2m, is having its IP assets brought to the market by consulting firm Metis Partners. Oysterworld incorporated in 2011 and produced a variety of casual and family entertainment products for a variety of devices.
The company is best known for Garden Party, an MMORPG aimed at encouraging children between the ages of 7 and 13 to work together and "achieve social harmony". Released 7 years ago, it’s been downloaded by 350’000 users.
Up for grabs too is the company’s follow-up game, Pooka: Magic and Mischief, which was at the soft-launch and beta-testing phase in Canada and Australia. The game has reportedly been designed to be gender-neutral and avoid stereotypes.
In addition to the brands and games, Metis Partners are offering up Oysterworld’s inhouse software and source code with all technical manuals and bug databases, registered trademarks and domain names, and all user data, including that gathered from the beta trials of Pooka: Magic and Mischief.

Metis Partners are asking for offers to be submitted directly to them by noon on Tuesday 18 of October 2016.
