Devs will compete for a showcase spot at the event’s Indie Arena Booth

InnoGames to host games jam at Gamescom

Browser and mobile games specialist InnoGames is hosting Gamescom’s first major games jam next week.

InnoGames’ IGJam will see 200 developers from around the world competing to create a brand new title from scratch in just 48 hours. It will be held from August 17th to 19th in Koelnmesse’s conference center east – right alongside Gamescom itself.

Submissions have already closed with dozens of game designers, programmers, sound designers and graphic artists already selected to compete. The best creation will win a free showcase spot at Gamescom’s Indie Arena Booth from Friday, August 19th.

InnoGames says the competition has attracted a mix of veteran games jammers, indie developers as well as newcomers and students. Interestingly, team size is unlimited.

IGJam has also secured the backing of Intel, German trade body BIU, Kickstarter and Amaze.

Develop will be covering the winners and speaking to the teams that participated later this month. In the meantime, you can find out more at igjam.eu.
