Mobile Entertainment man takes his place alongside scribes from BBC, Engadget and Mashable

Intent Media’s Dredge named world-leading tech journo

Dredge, ME’s online editor, has been named one of the world’s top online ‘voices’ on the ‘SAY 100: Online Voices That Shape Opinion’ list.

It comprises representatives from multiple sectors including Style, Food, Business, Design, Travel and so on.

Stuart Miles, editor of Pocket-lint, was chosen to assemble the technology list.

He described Dredge as "one of the best kept secrets outside of his core beat of phones, apps, mobile gaming, and music services. But he dominates the scene with consistent scoops and features."

He added: "His beat might be narrow, but those who read him are always influenced."

It’s fitting recognition for a highly regarded journalist who has an uncanny knack for a news angle, an indefatigable work ethic and an inherent understanding of how to use social media alongside ‘traditional’ forms of communication to get his stories out.

Tim Green, executive editor of ME, said: "Dredgy has made an incredible contribution to the success of ME since he joined us last summer.

"We’re very lucky to have him. His instincts are incredible. And he types really really fast."
