Studio moves ahead with smaller team

Irrational Games hiring again

Irrational Games has begun hiring new staff following a significant number of layoffs earlier in the year.

The BioShock Infinite developer is looking for an IT manager and senior programmer, the latter with experience of Unreal Engine 3 or 4. Details are vague on what its next game will be but the job openings suggest development has already begun on its next title.

In February earlier this year Irrational laid off all but 15 staff. Creative director Ken Levine said in a statement that he wanted to work on a “smaller team with a flatter structure and a more direct relationship with gamers”.

He said any new title would be “a different kind of game” that what it has developed before, with a focus on narrative and replayability.
