Job losses at Singularity dev

Developer Raven Software, the studio behind recent first person shooter release Singularity, has been hit with mass layoffs, according to reports.

Kotaku says that around 40 positions have been cut. Owner Activision has not confirmed the number, though did say in a statement: With the recent completion of Singularity, Raven Software is realigning its workforce to better reflect the studio’s upcoming slate.”

Raven was founded in 1990 and has worked on a number of triple-A franchises including Quake, Wolfenstein, Star Wars, X-Men and Soldier of Fortune,

At the time of its acquisition by Activision in 1997 the studio had three development teams. This was reduced to two last year and these cuts reduce it to just one, which from this point on will focus on digital content.
