Black Ops may rule the roost in terms of blockbuster sales and be this year’s official Xmas No.1 – but the teams and Ubisoft and Nintendo are probably still smiling regardless.
Just Dance 2 may not have outsold the combined might of Call of Duty, which typically skews towards 360 and PS3, but in single-SKU terms the Wii-exclusive dancing game outsold every other game on sale last week in the UK.
That makes it an Xmas No.1 of its own in the ‘Individual Formats’ chart supplied by UKIE/Chart-Track.
The game is the sequel to super-seller Just Dance, which was released just a year ago and has topped the main All Formats, All Prices chart and the Wii single-format chart a number of times this year.
MCV calculations suggest that between them, the two Just Dance games will have already sold well in excess of 2m units, although Ubisoft has yet to confirm official franchise sales data for the UK.
