Katamari’s Takahashi releases new Tango AR game Woorld

The latest creation from Katamari Damacy mastermind Keita Takahashi is now available for a very specific group of owners.

Woorld, which is an augmented reality title, is designed for Google’s Tango AR platform. And to date only one handset supports it – Lenovo’s Phab 2 Pro. Basically, this is about as niche as it gets. The project was announced earlier this year.

The game allows users to decorate their homes with an assortment of colourful ornaments, all of which are superimposed onto a player’s real-life surroundings.

Woorld lets you decorate your space with fantastical objects and then see how they interact in silly, playful ways,” the description reads.

Get to know the adorable characters and help them explore your creation with a simple touch interface. Build a Woorld, and then share it with friends! Help the lost Explorer find friends and eventually – find its way home. The sky’s the limit with this magical, creative play experience.”

Funomena is also working on PS4 title Wattam, which looks equally as obscure. None of which should be a surprise, seeing as it’s from the man behind Katamari and PS3 oddity Noby Noby Boy.
