Company acquires Alchemic Dream and Reverb Localização

Keywords Studios adds two more firms to services empire

Services provider Keywords Studio has announced two more acquisitions, bringing a customer care firm and Brazilian localisation specialist into the fold.

In the case of the former, the acquisition of Alchemic Dream brings Keywords into a new market – live operations support. Alchemic Dream specialises in managing communities for online and mobile games, both within the titles themselves and across social media.

Keywords has also acquired Reverb Localização, a Brazilian-based localisation provider. The firm will be rebranded as Keywords do Brasil, and adds to the widespread localisation resources its new parent already owns.

These two deals follow a string of acquisitions from the past year, with Lakshya Digital, Binari Sonori and Babel Media all becoming part of the Keywords empire.

"The acquisition of Alchemic Dream provides us with an important point of entry into this increasingly significant market," commented CEO Andrew Day. "Our ability to offer a full range of gamer support services by leveraging a highly committed pool of 1,500 game specialists spread across 12 locations and three continents is a huge asset. The systems, knowledge and experience of Alchemic Dream will allow us to fast track our otherwise organic growth in this arena.

"As Brazil and Latin America are becoming increasingly important markets for the industry, with very active local communities of gamers, eager to play their favourite titles in their own language, having a presence in Brazil is paramount for a leading localisation group such as Keywords. The acquisition of Reverb Localização, a company with ample experience, a strong pool of translators all over Brazil and partnerships with recording studios in Rio de Janeiro, guarantees us that."
