Developers offer thanks, add stretch goals

Kickstarter success for That Dragon, Cancer

The team behind emotional adventure That Dragon, Cancer have successfully raised enough money via Kickstarter to complete production on the game.

A crowdfunding appeal was launched last month to generate the finishing fund required for the project, which gives players an insight into the true story of a family dealing with their young son’s fight against brain cancer.

The team asked for $85,000 to help complete the game, with their target reached at 2am on Sunday morning. The total currently stands at just shy of $90,000.

"Thank you for everything you’ve done, including sharing the project, supporting us financially and contributing your own story to the game," the team wrote on the game’s Kickstarter page. "We are amazed by your continuous support this month. This is going to be something truly special; we hope you’re anticipating release as much as we are."

Any funds now raised will help the developers avoid their debts of $75,000 and brings them closer to working on a new project. To aid this, stretch goals and rewards have been added.
