Killer Instinct characters to cost $5 each in free-to-play edition

Microsoft has provided new info regarding the interesting pricing structure for the Xbox One-exclusive reboot of Killer Instinct.

As previously announced, the game will be offered as a free download for Microsoft’s latest console at launch and include one playable character at no additional cost.

Xbox Wire now has word that each additional character will be priced individually at $4.99 – though there will be a few other options as well.

A $19.99 Combo Breaker” pack unlocks the game’s full roster of eight characters, as well as offering two exclusive fighters that won’t be available for individual purchase until a later date.

Players can also purchase the Ultra Edition for $39.99, which bundles all playable characters, a collection of accessory and costume packs, and the original arcade version of Killer Instinct.
