Kim ‘Effect’ Hyun tweets worries about future of Overwatch esports, will start practicing CS:GO

Kim ‘Effect’ Hyun, a damage dealer for Team EnVyUs’ Overwatch roster, took to Twitter on Tuesday to say that he’s looking to start practicing Overwatch.

The tweet, in Korean, is embedded below, but was translated by Slingshot Esports

In English: “I decided to play CS:GO during the pockets of time after Overwatch practice,” he wrote. “This is because I’m concerned about the future of Overwatch. I’ll play Overwatch like I’ve always have, but in the time I play PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS and Osu!, I feel like playing another FPS game will help me with my aiming and maybe allow me to have a future in that game.”

His concerns landed at the same time that many people in the Overwatch community are having their doubts about the future of the game as a competitive esport. With so many teams dropping their rosters, it makes sense that the players would also be feeling the squeeze.
