Kingdom Come: Deliverance’s exec producer: “I wish we had more time to polish the game before the release”

Kingdom Come: Deliverance’s executive producer has admitted that studio Warhorse made their "share of poor decisions and blunders," when it came to developing the game.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance has drawn criticism from fans and press for the sheer variety of bugs and performance issues, and Warhorse Studios have addressed this in their weekly blogpost, the Weekly Torch. In answer to a question asking about whether he sees Kingdom Come: Deliverance as a AAA game, executive producer Martin Klima has said that he thinks the game bridges the gap between indie and AAA, but that a AAA game deserves more polish.

"KCD is an attempt of bridging the two: it is an indie game at heart – more hardcore, more demanding, more fierce – but with the visuals and production values of AAA game." said Klima.

"I freely admit though that I wish we had more time to polish the game before the release, that’s what AAA game deserves."

Talking about the crunch that preceded the game’s release, he admitted that the team had made "poor decisions and blunders" but claimed the studio had a "remarkably low turnover", claiming that they "created an open and friendly environment where everyone can speak up their mind."

This culture of people speaking their mind has landed them in some more hot water however, with game director Daniel Vávra coming under fire for pushing alt-right views on social media.

A new patch for the game is forthcoming, entering certification today. It will supposedly fix "hundreds" of bugs.
