Creator of Karma Online and Special Force to use Epic engine in new game

Korea’s Dragonfly is latest UE3 licensee

Dragonfly, the Seoul, Korea-based developer of online FPS titles, has licensed Unreal Engine 3 from Epic Games for an unannounced project.

The studio’s previous games include Karma Online and Special Force. and helped establish the shooter as a viable online game genre in Korean market.

“Unreal Engine 3 is the right game engine for us,” said Park Cheol Seung, vice president of Dragonfly. “While we have developed much of our own technology over the years, Unreal Engine 3 clearly provides the cutting edge framework we need to ensure the highest development standards in our project.”

Jay Wilbur, vice president of Epic, added: “Dragonfly is a proven team with an outstanding track record. We are honored to support one of Korea’s top game developers with the core technologies, development infrastructure and tools they need to make amazing games.”
