Shared center of games design going ahead after successful Kickstarter campaign

LA Game Space hits crowdfunding goal

LA Game Space is to be created after the team behind it saw their Kickstarter campaign hit target.

The LA Game Space will offer a non-profit physical space bringing together areas for artist residencies, a number of galleries, research labs, and room for workshops and speaker presentations.

Set to be established in a warehouse in LA, the project still has three days remaining for additional pledges, and was supported by a number of popular and well regarded independent developers, who created games to be delivered to those who pledged financial support for Game Space. Those involved in supporting the project through developing special games include the developers behind Hotline Miami, QWOP, Unfinished Swan and Bit.Trip, as well as Katamari creator Keita Takahashi.

Presently at $286,961 of a $250,000 goal, the LA Games Space crowdfunding drive continues at Kickstarter.
