Crowdfunding project bursts into life after several quiet weeks

Last-gasp triumph for Code Hero Kickstarter

A Kickstarter campaign for an innovative game development tool has met its $100,000 target with just 45 hours to spare.

The crowdfunding program burst into life after several weeks of dwindling interest, suddenly drawing in $90,000 over six days as developers and game enthusiasts pitched in to fund the unique game creation tool.

At the time of going to press, the Code Hero Kickstarter sits at $110,000 – ten per cent over target.

Code Hero is a fully interactive game that uses the Unity engine to teach people to build their own creations. The first levels in the game will teach users the basics, while the final ‘level’ is to publish your own work.

The program, developed by Alex Peake (pictured, right), is currently in beta. Kickstarter funds will be used to finalise the project.
