Leak suggests next Call of Duty will be set in World War II

Leaked images of promotional material have revealed that the next Call of Duty title will be set in World War II.

After years of constantly pushing the series further and further into the future, developer Sledgehammer Games, the studio behind Advanced Warfare, is set to make a return to the second world war. The game will be called Call of Duty: WW2 and will be the first time the series has tackled the second world war since Call of Duty: World at War, which launched in 2008.

Since the leaked images sources have confirmed to both Eurogamer and PCGamesN that the leak is indeed real and that will be the title of the game.

It will be interesting to see how this impacts the professional Call of Duty scene, as for the last three years jetpack control has been a key skill for all players. Due to the very young age of the competitors some of the game’s biggest stars have never played a boots on the ground game competitively, so some may struggle with the transition.
