Fans presented with apology hours before new trailer set to be debuted

Legal gaffe delays Insomniac’s Fuse unveiling

A legal rights issue has prevented Insomniac from unveiling its brand new IP Fuse.

A trailer was initially promised to fans via a countdown on the game’s new website.

However on the last day of the countdown, which was due to end on September 12th at 6am Pacific time, visitors were instead greeted with an apology message from Insomniac CEO Ted Price, who cited legal issues preventing them from showing the trailer.

The exact reason for the delay was not stated however.

“We had an awesome trailer planned and finished,” said Price.

“Unfortunately a last-minute legal rights issue has prevented us from releasing the trailer as planned. EA is trying to obtain the necessary approvals and we hope to bring the trailer to you soon. After discussing internally, we wanted to stop the countdown and explain what happened.

“In the interim, we’re proceeding with our other plans for the reveal. The new Fuse section of section of our website will be up with information and screenshots when the countdown was scheduled to end.”

Revealed at PAX earlier this month, the game is reportedly a reworked version of another previously announced new IP, Overstrike, which hasn’t been presented to the public since E3 2011.
