UK-based studio hires art director and senior programmer

Lightning Fish development team expands

Banbury-based studio Lightning Fish has expanded its development team with the hiring of André van Rooijen and Bruce Nesbit as art director and senior programmer respectively.

Boasting 12 years of industry experience, van Rooijen cited Lightning Fish’ work with motion control technology as reason for his move to the firm.

“Having been closely involved with the camera and motion based games Playlogic created for the Eyetoy Group of Sony Studio London; Lightning Fish turned out to be an excellent match,” he said.

“At Lightning Fish I will contribute to their upcoming titles as well as help with expanding the art team so it is able to meet the demands of the ambitious projects that are planned for the future.”

Nesbit, who has programming experience of over 25 years, will now be maintaining the toolchain and coding work on Lightning Fish titles.

Lightning Fish’ latest title, motion control-based fitness game Get Fit With Mel B, was released in early October.
