2K Games has opened a new AAA-focused studio based out of California, to be led by former Lucas Arts director and producer Haden Blackman.
Dubbed Hangar 13, the new extension of 2K will look to create the most memorable triple-A experiences of this generation” – according to 2K president Christoph Hartmann.
[Hangar 13 will focus on games that] allow players to shape their own experiences, from the moment-to-moment gameplay, to the long-term impact on the world, characters and narrative,” Blackman added.To realize this goal, we’re building proprietary technology and assembling a core team passionate about delivering mature experiences loaded with meaningful choices.”
The new development house is currently looking to fill 18 vacant roles, including senior AI engineer, engine programmer and audio programmer.
