Machine Zone and Kabam resolve legal dispute

Game of War company Machine Zone’s trade secret lawsuit against Star Wars: Rising developer Kabam has been settled.

The two firms issued a joint statement, in which the free-to-play companies say that they have ‘amicably’ solved their differences.

It was announced at the end of August that Machine Zone was filing a lawsuit against Kabam for ‘misappropriation of trade secrets’.

Based on our discussions with Kabam, we have concluded that the concerns that prompted our filing the suit have been allayed,” said Machine Zone CEO Gabe Leydon. We are pleased to have amicably resolved the matter.”

Kabam COO Kent Wakeford added: We’re happy to put this matter behind us. Kabam holds itself and its employees to a high standard of conduct, and we take any claim against us very seriously. The behavior of one employee as described in the lawsuit is not representative of how we do business. We’re glad that our companies can move forward.”
