Madden is worlds biggest-selling game in Q3

EA’s Madden NFL 09 was the world’s biggest-selling game in the three-month quarter between July and September.

The title sold just under three million copies overall – with 2.99 million in the US, and just 35,000 in the UK and 1,000 in Japan.

Wii Fit was the second biggest seller, with 2.09 million sales overall. It enjoyed a more even worldwide success, with 1.3 million in the US, 460,000 sales in the UK and 346,000 sales in Japan.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed enjoyed 1.74 million sales overall, with 1.4 million in the US and 321,000 in the UK.

Pokemon Platinum – the fourth biggest seller – shifted 1.48 million: all in Japan.

Mario Kart Wii finished off the top five, with 1.46 million overall: 856,000 in the US, 394,000 in the UK and 218,000 in Japan.
