The Intel IoT Developer Kit v1.0 has been released, marking its graduation from beta, and providing enhanced tools for developing applications for the Internet of Things. Whether you’re an entrepreneur, student or hobbyist, the kit provides you with software you can use in conjunction with the Intel Galileo and Intel Edison development platforms to create applications and devices that interact with the real world.
The new release includes a number of enhancements, based in part on feedback from a series of developer roadshows that took place last year. The improvements include a new Eclipse plug-in to make it easier to get started with C++ coding, support for over 70 sensors, an improved installation process for Intel Edison using Microsoft Windows, support for Wyliodrin visual programming on Intel Edison, and updated documentation.
