Mass Effect film gets new scriptwriter

A Mass Effect fan is getting the opportunity to write for the game franchise’s film adaptation.

Variety reports that Legendary Entertainment has hired on Morgan Davis Foehl to pen the script for Bioware’s science fiction series.

Foehl doesn’t have big screen credentials, but has been lauded for his work Whatever Gets You Through the Night, and is currently working on an upcoming project entitled Crosshair as well.

The production company became interested in Foehl when it was discovered that beyond being a fan of the games, the scribe’s past works contained action-oriented plots full of espionage.

The scriptwriting duties were handed over to Foehl following the departure of Mark Protosevich (Thor, I Am Legend).

BioWare co-founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk – as well as Mass Effect lead Casey Hudson – are on board as executive producers.
