Ubisoft won the ultimate prize at the MCV Awards: the Grand Prix.
CEO Yves Guillemot himself was on hand to collect the prize, which honours both a strong 12 months in the trade, plus an overall history spanning 25 years.
The Grand Prix is the only prize solely selected by the MCV editorial team, and it recognises commercial and critical success plus the highest levels of support and efficiency at trade level.
Ubisoft won another key accolade on the night – UK sales director Darren Bowen was selected by our Retail Advisory Board to receive the Special Recognition prize.
Ubisoft celebrates 25 years of business this year. And in the last 12 months, it has performed well across the spectrum, growing games like Just Dance into new franchises with spin-offs such as Michael Jackson: The Expeirence, and continually growing the likes of Assassin’s Creed.
Through relations with retail and other trade partners, it has consistently grown – even in the face of a competitive market like that in 2010.
This year it launches the revamp of Driver and a new Rayman, the franchise that first helped the French publisher to make a name for itself.
