EX-HMV BUYER JOINS GREEN MAN GAMING

Nick Ashley, former head of buying at HMV, has joined Green Man Gaming in the role of PC digital buyer. Nick Ashley follows buying managers Hannah Ebbatson and Alistair Hunter in leaving HMV to join Green Man Gaming.

I’m delighted to welcome someone as experienced as Nick to the team”, said Green Man Gaming executive vice president Martin Baxter, who also joined the firm from HMV.

He will be joining a team of PC digital and console game buyers with decades of combined gaming retail experience. This will ultimately help Green Man Gaming build even stronger relations with publishing partners and further extend our global consumer offering.”

New role for The Hut’s Pennycook
Richard Pennycook has been appointed chairman of The Hut Group as current chairman Angus Monro stands down.

Pennycook is currently non-executive independent director of the group and will take up the new role on April 1st. Monro will remain at the firm as a non-executive director of the group.

I am delighted that I am handing over the role of chairman to Richard, who has brought both energy and invaluable insight in his role as an independent non-executive director,” said Monro.

His extensive public and private company retail experience is a considerable asset to the Group.”

Pennycook will leave his position as group finance director of Morrisons at the end of June.

THQ foursome joins Koch Media
Four former members of the UK THQ team have found new marketing roles at?Koch Media.

The expanded team will be led by head of marketing and PR for Northern Europe and export territories Amy Namihas.

Mark Fisher has joined as UK head of marketing and PR from his role as senior brand manager at THQ and former THQ interactive marketing manager Mike Richardson has been named digital marketing manager.

Completing the new recruits are Huq Beynon who has joined the firm as global brand manager and Suzanne Panter as Koch’s PR manager.

It is going to be an important year for the company and with this added experience into our already highly successful and creative team we are set for the journey ahead,” said Paul Nicholls, Koch Media’s sales and marketing director for Northern Europe.
